Let me introduce myself...

I thought I should introduce myself properly, and firstly, thank you so much for visiting my website, I hope you are enjoying the wonderful world of Doyenne The Label.

My name is Grace Kidd, and for a long time now creating this brand has been my dream. Towards the end of last year, I decided with the support of my fiancé and parents, to make the leap to quit my full time job in branding and packaging, and put everything into my dream of starting a fashion brand.

This isn't a random venture, really it's something I have worked and studied for, for a very long time. I studied fashion design at college in London, and then went on to work in buying for a high-street retailer in London. The city life just was not for me, I knew for certain at this point my heart was out in the countryside and that's where I wanted to spend my days, not doing a 2 hour commute each way in and out of London and just feeling quite miserable.

I then moved onto a role within branding and packaging and worked with lots of start up brands, which I enjoyed and really understood the importance of a strong brand identity.

I am blessed that my parents both come from a fashion retail background, my mum being a fashion designer herself working for high street retailers and luxury brands throughout her career. My dad at the other end of the job range, is an accountant who worked as Financial Controller for many large retailers. With their advice and support, I've been able to make this all a reality.

So I suppose, why I'm doing this, is to fulfil my dreams, create a life where I can live and work on my own terms, and also learn so much about every aspect of business by starting out as a one man band. This business may be small now, but I have huge dreams for it, which I know with your support will become a reality. Hard work has always paid off for me so far, and I'm hoping this journey will be no exception and Doyenne The Label will in time become a brand women up and down the country know and love.
